Nancy Wells, MSN, WHNP-BC, RDMS

Nancy Wells joined Women’s Health Associates in May 2005. She helps care for both gynecologic and obstetric clients of all ages. As a nurse practitioner, she feels one of the cornerstones of her relationship with patients is to teach them how to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Nancy became a registered nurse in May 1984, working primarily in labor and delivery. She completed her nurse practitioner training with a master's degree in nursing at Northwestern State University in May 1998 and is certified in women’s health by National Certification Corporation. She also is a registered diagnostic medical sonographer (RDMS) certified in obstetrics and gynecology by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography and a certified menopause practitioner by North American Menopause Society.

Her practice interests include menopause, interstitial cystitis and urinary incontinence. She is an educator for training other health professionals to implant the contraceptive device Nexplanon. She is a volunteer at the Pool of Siloam Medical Ministry and provides gynecologic care there, collaborating with Dr. John R. Carter in that endeavor. She is a member of Nurse Practitioners in Women’s Health and Louisiana Association of Nurse Practitioners.

Nancy is married to Phil Reiland and together they have five children. They enjoy running, cycling and visiting their children now that they have all moved out on their own. They attend Grace United Methodist Church in Shreveport.
